Depicted from a 1995 song by Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave "Where the wild roses grow". Her name is Elisa Day but they called her the Wild Rose. This portrait is basically my interpretation of her, she is an extrordinarily beautiful woman with pale white skin and blood red rose lips - which becomes her death in the end.
Lovingly created from my own imagination, I think she turned out beautifully.
Acrylic medium on a 40cm X 50cm canvas board.

Here is my latest: "Rememberance" Anzac Cove, Gallipoli.
Painted specially for the Gallipoli Memorial Club Awards. It depicts respect and rememberance to those who fought bravely in the Gallipoli war.
I chose Anzac Cove as my landscape as it is had a great significance during the Gallipoli war. The bayonet rifle with the anzac slouch hat stands facing sunset as if to salute in respect. And the healthy bush of red poppies growing at the foot of the rifle are a symbol of rememberance.
Even though I am not of that generation, my respect still stands strong for any veteran who has bravely served his country and I have painted to the best of my ability what I believe best depicts the Gallipoli creed. "I hope you like it".
